ACT I. Childhood.
Let's start this in a cliché way. Once upon a time there was a man named Mark Colleman and a woman named Yoon Jisoo who meet each other, fell in love, got married and later had a kid. On November 21, 1998 in Oceanside a future figure skating legend was born.
When Coraline Colleman turned seven years old, her mother decided to put her in ballet and ice skating lessons. The girl didn't have a lot of friends in school so her mother was trying to put her in activities that would help her get friends, atleast that was the goal. Coraline hated the ballet lessons but since the first day she put a skates on and got on ice, she fell in love with the feeling. Don't get her wrong, she didn't hate ballet himself, she hated her teacher and the selfish girls in her class, She didn't fit in. But in ice skating that was diferent, she found her truly passion since that day and what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Skating made her feel athletic, graceful, beautiful.She then started to go on global competitions winning gold and silver medals, wich made the media turn their attention to Coraline. The media soon started to call her "queen of ice", not because of her important medals but because the way she skates. They said her skating could be described as something romantic and theatrical. Something they never saw before, or atleast not much skaters have.At the age of eighteen she started living on her own. Her mother decided to go back to her hometown (Korea) and her father went with her. Coraline decided to stay in America but instead of staying in Oceanside she moved to Los Angeles. since she already had her life formed there but she often goes to Korea to visit her parents.She had a serious knee injurie in end of 2018, she had to stayed one year resting. It was the worst time of her life. She was free to skate in the end of 2019. But all the figure skating events were cancelled because of the new COVID-19. She spent her whole 2020 and early 2021 without doing competitions because of COVID-19. In November, Coraline reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing symptoms. She was admitted to the hospital with severe lung damage. Colleman spent most of November and part of December recovering. She came back to competitions earlier this year.
